For those of you who are new here or are yet to experience a newborn, maternity or family photoshoot Sydney with me, hi! I hope that one day I get to work with you and capture your family. Before I do, here is a little bit about me and why I am passionate about what I do.
Flash back ten years, I was in university studying teaching and for fun I took photos of everything and anything. Word somehow spread about how I loved photographing people, and I got a booking to photograph my first small event. Back then, I had no website, logo or name and no idea what running a business would even entail. Fast forward four years, my business had grown substantially. I had finished my degree and was now working part-time as a primary school teacher, and I was pregnant with my second child. It was at this crossroads in my life that I decided to leave my stable secure job and branch out into the world of photography with a more serious business.
After I finished maternity leave, I returned to work part time as a photographer! I soon realised that I couldn’t do it all, I was shooting weddings, property, commercials, newborn, families and more. I needed to find my passion, my niche. I knew in my heart that my passion for working with children meant that this was in the family and newborn photography Sydney space.
I love capturing your families and children. For me success in my job is helping to bring a child out of their shell, to help them to feel safe and comfortable around me so that I can capture natural authentic photographs of them. I can’t tell you the amount of times a shoot ends, and a little person will grab my hand leading me away to play. I know I have done my job well when this happens!
Over the years I have completed many newborn photography courses and been mentored by others. I have learnt how to run a successful business where my clients all leave as my biggest raving fans and come back time and time again to capture their growing families.
I have refined my style of photography, pushed myself to learn new things, upgraded my packages to offer a ladies client wardrobe and collected a huge variety of newborn clothes, wraps and blankets to lend to my clients. My editing style has evolved and I have employed an editing company so that I can take on more work.
The best part of my job is being welcomed into your family home, into the quiet of your newborn bubble to capture this joyous time for you. From the tiny little details of their hands and toes to the way they curl up onto your chest. It is all captured and documented for you forever.
